Jeremy Renner was ‘crushed’ by ‘extremely bulky snow removal equipment’ weighing ‘at least 14,330 pounds’, according to local authorities.

Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam told a press conference Tuesday that the actor’s PistenBully was “stuck” when the “Hawkeye” star attempted to “recover” the vehicle and [it] moving.”

Although the 51-year-old was ‘successful’, he was off the machine and ‘talking to a family member’ when the PistenBully ‘started rolling’.

The Sheriff explained, β€œIn an effort to stop the PistenBully rollover, Mr. Renner is attempting[ed] to take over the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. According to our investigation, it was at this stage that Mr. Renner [was] to crush.”

Balaam noted that Renner was not considered “impaired at all” during the “tragic accident” and foul play is not suspected.

News broke Monday that the Oscar nominee was in a “critical but stable condition” in Nevada after “being the victim of a weather-related incident.”

Renner was airlifted to a hospital where he underwent surgery, according to TMZ.

The ‘Town’ star, who suffered a “blunt force trauma to his chest” among other injuries, gave some insight into his injuries on Tuesday when he posted a selfie from the hospital via Instagram.
